
I tried all the solutions on the web I could find: Took out battery, tried powering up with just ac cable, no good. In that case, it should be a legitimate spare part manufactured by Lenovo. I did that, but my problem is still un-resolved. 'm pretty sure it's something internal that was messed up. I tried disconnecting the battery and then other little battery by the hardrive. It is the F1 key with the speaker with a line through it, next to the Esc key. I tested my charger with another Y520 and it works. Next test to try would be to remove the battery again and connect just the AC adapter. The reason the motherboard is that costly is because almost all the components are soldered on/in-built.
